Le logo de Monde en main représente 2 mains qui se rejoignent pour former la maison dans laquelle on se sent en harmonie

For this first "Monde en mains" blog, I will speak to you as Gwenaële, the founder of the brand.

After fifteen rewarding years spent in management in various French industrial sectors, I felt the need to reinvent myself and achieve my full potential in my professional life. This quest for renewal is accompanied by a deep desire to share my professional values and my vision of modern, positive, and effective management with the teams around me.

Why did you choose to import furniture and decoration?

Although “Monde en Mains” does not offer a public utility service per se, it is undeniable that our well-being depends on a “home” in which we feel good. In an era marked by overconsumption, I am convinced that it is possible to change our consumption patterns.

With this in mind, “Monde en Mains” is committed to offering furniture and decorative objects for the home and garden, combining quality and durability while maintaining the concept of personalized products. Our furniture and decorative objects are made from environmentally friendly materials.

In addition, we offer the collection of your old furniture, which we give to charities or which we restore to give them a second life.

An inspiration born in Indonesia

My first visit to Indonesia in 2016 was a revelation. Beyond its breathtaking landscapes (perhaps the subject of a future blog), I discovered a true crossroads of cultures, populated by exceptionally kind people.

What particularly struck me was the wealth of local crafts. Each village has its own specialties (some for wood, fossilized wood, others for rattan, or even the only province specializing in copper in Java,...).

Indonesia is rich in precious natural resources, such as beautiful and robust exotic woods like Teak, Suar or Merbau, the incredible petrified wood that is over 22 million years old, as well as natural stones of varied colors and remarkable resistance thanks to their volcanic origin.

These materials, combined with Indonesian craftsmanship, allow us to create unique furniture and decorations that bring a touch of authenticity and exoticism to our interiors.

I am committed to personally meeting each of the artisans with whom I develop a real partnership to guarantee the durability and quality of the furniture and decorations offered at Monde en mains.

By collaborating with these artisans, I hope, through the "Monde en Mains" brand, to promote the country's traditions and offer my customers products that tell a story, while supporting more responsible and sustainable consumption.

Why the name “World in Hands”?

Although Indonesia was my first destination, my passion for travel and art led me to explore other regions of the globe, such as Madagascar and Morocco. These countries are full of talented artisans, bearers of unique traditions and skills.

My ambition with “Monde en Mains” is to promote and enhance this global craft, by offering a place where these creations can be discovered, appreciated and adopted.

The choice of the name “Monde en Mains” is a tribute to these artisans from around the world, united by their talent and the exceptional gift they possess in their hands.

Each piece they create tells a story, reflects a culture and embodies a know-how that is passed down from generation to generation.

By collaborating with them, I not only want to bring a touch of authenticity and exoticism to our interiors, but also to support these communities by preserving and perpetuating their artisanal traditions.

Thus, “Monde en Mains” symbolizes this connection between the world’s artisans and art and decoration lovers, creating a bridge between cultures and celebrating the richness of handcraft across the globe.
