Commitments to social impact

Supporting artisans, preserving know-how, creating a positive impact

At Monde en mains, our commitment goes far beyond simply marketing artisanal products. We believe in an ethical and sustainable economic model, where each participant in the production chain benefits from fair recognition and improved working conditions. Our social responsibility is based on three pillars: respect for artisans and their expertise, improving working conditions, and supporting local communities. This policy formalizes our commitments and guides our actions toward more responsible trade.

At Monde en mains, we believe that more ethical trade is possible by placing artisans and their communities at the heart of our project. Our commitment translates into concrete actions aimed at improving their daily lives, preserving their expertise, and promoting a more responsible and sustainable way of consuming.

We will continue to move forward in this direction, with you, our customers and partners, to build together a future where craftsmanship rhymes with ethics and respect.

Chapter 1 – Fair and ethical trade

1.1 Fair and transparent remuneration

We are committed to working directly with artisans and building trusting relationships based on fair compensation. Our prices are set based on labor time, materials used, and the artisans' needs to earn a decent living from their craft.

1.2 Compliance with deadlines and working conditions

We respect the artisans' work pace and do not impose unreasonable production deadlines. We ensure that our orders are in line with their production capacity and do not put harmful pressure on their well-being.

1.3 Sustainable business practices

We favor local and environmentally friendly materials, thus reducing the carbon footprint of our products. We reject child labor and require our partners to respect the fundamental principles of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

Chapter 2 – Improving working conditions for artisans

2.1 Investment in tools and infrastructure

We contribute financially to projects aimed at improving the working conditions of artisans, in particular through the purchase or financing of new tools, equipment and infrastructure (better-equipped workshops, access to electricity and drinking water, etc.).

2.2 Training and transmission of know-how

We support training programs to help artisans develop their skills, innovate while preserving artisanal traditions, and ensure the transmission of their know-how to younger generations.

2.3 Access to wider markets

By promoting their creations on our platforms and participating in international events, we help artisans gain visibility and diversify their sources of income.

Chapter 3 – Support for local communities

Customer Awareness and Engagement

We inform our customers about the origin and impact of their purchases. We encourage them to consume responsibly by highlighting the stories of artisans and the values of fair trade.

Chapter 4 – Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

4.1 Evaluation and transparency

We regularly monitor the impact of our actions and are committed to being transparent about our progress. We share reports and testimonials to demonstrate the evolution of working conditions and the projects we support.

4.2 Listening and dialogue with artisans

We listen to our artisan partners to tailor our support to their specific needs. We organize regular meetings and discussions to ensure a balanced and respectful relationship.

4.3 Long-term commitment

Our corporate social responsibility approach is long-term. We are committed to evolving this policy as challenges and opportunities arise, while maintaining our mission: to create more humane, fairer, and more sustainable commerce.
